Who’s The Murderer?
Detectives investigating the murder of a great-grandmother in Southampton have released further CCTV images of a man they want to trace. Delia Hughes, 85, was found beaten to death inside her Atlantic Close flat in Ocean Village on 18 August.
Police believe a man seen on CCTV near her home in the morning of her murder lives in the Woolston area of the city.
He is white and aged between 25 and 30, and described as being "nimble and bouncy on his feet". At the time he was wearing a grey hooded jacket, faded blue jeans, and trainers and carrying a small black rucksack. Sixty detectives are working on the case and are conducting house to house inquiries at residential properties bordered by Bridge Road, Shamrock Road, Peartree Road and Defender Road.
Police are investigating now who the CCTV person is and they want to see if he has anything to do with the murder and they are now suspecting he something to do something with the murder as the CCTV was close to Delia Hughes house which has now passed away.

Obama blocks wind farms
By Ruta Taskunaite
The US President Barack Obama hasn’t allowed a Chinese company to build a wind farm in the state of Oregon, USA due to possible national security risks. The Chinese firm Ralls Corp already have four wind farms in the US. This deprives Ralls Corp their position rights of their projects most of which are positioned near military bases.
This decision was made after an investigation was carried out by the US Committee on Foreign Investigation, who found that there was no way to minimize the risks that would be caused.

Will Spain be the next Greece?
By Ruta Taskunaite
The government has predicted that Spain’s debts will increase over the next year, forcing it to make huge efforts to cut down on spending. This was suggested after Spain unveiled more plans to cut down on costs causing others to wonder how long it will be before Spain needs a bailout.
This started after the 2008 global financial crisis which cause Spain’s property market to significantly lower its prices. The effects of this have caused Spain to have the largest unemployment rate in Europe and lower tax returns.
Their plans to cut down on spending include cutting down public wages, education, health and social services. This should allow them to save around 13bn euros. This could help Spain escape being the fourth country that needed bailout form the European Union after Greece, Portugal and the Republic of Ireland.

Restrictions of Irani women has taken a rise in 77 different majors at Uni
International rights groups protest as 36 universities in Iran have begun to ban women from 77 different majors, including accounting, counseling, and engineering, Iran’s Mehr New agency reported in early August.
Iran has been urged by the Human rights group to lift restrictions on women attending university and enrolling in academic fields.
It has been reported that there was no official reason given for the move, but Iranian officials have expressed their alarm in recent months about the country’s declining birth and marriage rates. They seem to see this as partially caused by women’s rising educational attainment in the past two decades.
In a statement, Human Rights Watch, the New York-based watchdog, have urged the Iranian government to immediately reverse the most restrictive policies, and have said they were a violation of the international right to education for everyone without discrimination of their sex.
Liesel Gerntholtz, who is a women’s rights director at Human Rights Watch said "As university students across Iran prepare to start the new academic year, they face serious setbacks, and women students in particular will no longer be able to pursue the education and careers of their choice,"
Now keep in mind of the fact that women in Iran make up a majority of college students. According to Hossein Tavakoli, who is an official at Iran’s Natunal Education Assessment Organisation (NEAO), 60 per cent of those who have passed this year’s national collefe entrance exam were women.
Extra restrains have been imposed on campuses, particularly a new push to divide the women and men into separate classes in order to prevent a mixture of the sexes that is frowned upon by Iran’s rulers.
Just last week the minister of science, Kamran Daneshjou, was quoted saying authorities in the Islamic republic "welcome the establishment of one-gender universities, schools for only men or women."
He was also quoted saying that it was the direction “our religion envisions for us” and has dismissed Western criticism of Iran’s steps, saying: “The angrier Western media gets, the more we realize we are moving in the right direction.”
In this year’s August, Shirin Ebadi, the Iranian Nobel Peace laureate, argued in a letter to the UN that the recent closure of the certain academic fields to women in Iran was part of a push by the Iranian government to stifle “women’s presence in the public arena.”
Will Iran’s restrains on women continue or, will the power of women take control for once and allow themselves to be liberated?
Let us know what you think.

Mommy-I want to be a girl
Zach Avery is like any other average 5 year-old — except he believes he is a girl.
For over a year now he has insisted to his parents that he is simply trapped in the wrong gender and wants to become a girl. Zach is one of the youngest children to be treated for Gender Identity Disorder, and has been referred to the only facility of its kind in Britain at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, based in the city of London.
His mother, Theresa said: 'I would love to have my son back. But I want him to be happy.'
Cases such as these are becoming more common in the world, according to Margaret Griffiths, of Mermaids, a charity established in 1995 that offers support for transgender children as well as their families.
'Usually, with younger children, it's those who are very much insistingting that they want to wear the clothes of the opposite gender and play with the toys of the opposite gender,' she said. 'Sometimes they want to be called by a different name and they want ti have different hairstyles and generally it causes quote an issue at school because they don't always fit in.'' The child involves knows they don't fit in properly. They are very fustarted, some of them get quiote angry. Self-harm is common because they're fustrated, they don't know what to do about it.'
Ms Griffiths also said she was concerned when a child's gender dysphoria - feeling like they are trapped in the body of the wrong sex - becomes public.
She said: 'Young children of any age are not necessarily aware of the possibilities for the future and what would happen if this child grew out of it? The newspaper articles are still going to remain on the internet.
'Once you go up to secondary school you are no longer an equal sized fish in the equal-sized ponf. You are a little tiny fish in a very big pong.'
Dr Sandra Wheatley, who is a psychologist, is concerned about children being treated for GID too early in their life. She say: 'In terms of social stigma, there are a lot of people who won't undetstand what it means and that's who will use it against him and I think that will be something that will be very painful.'
Dr Carmichael, who is the director of the Gender Idenitiy Development Service at Tavistock and Portman,, said some parents do find it difficult if, for example they have a son who prefers to play with Barbie dolls.'HIS I tHIS ISSUE IS THAT SOME families may try and persuade the persuade the child they would rather play with trucks'; she says.
'They hope that id they can direct the child appropriately this will go away. If you do that it will just get pushed underground and the child will realize that it's not on but it doesn't mean the feelings have gone away.'
On the topic of boys dressing up as girls and vice versa is just part of it's just part of growing up. She says: 'I think p I think people who say that perhaps haven't really come across individuals for whom this causes extreme unhappiness. Even if it's a passing phase, at that moment that is h how that person feels and you have to respect that.'
The clinic is now trailing a hormone blocker treatment for a few transgender children who want to delay puberty before making their decision on their gender.
Dr Carmichael said: 'It's not as some people say, an inevitable first step to sex reassignment. It is about providing a space for future exploration and it is reversible.'

Lambs at risk from deadly Schmallenberg virus
A virus that is a serious threat to sheep and other farm animals has hit 74 farms in England. The Schmallenberg virus mainly affects sheep. If a pregnant sheep catches the disease, it can have a serious effect on a lamb's development before it is born. This means it could die or be born severely deformed. The virus could have been spread here by midges, mosquitoes and ticks from Europe which bite and infect sheep. At the moment, the affected farms are in the south but farmers are worried the disease will spread north. They're calling on scientists to develop a vaccine but that could take up to two years.Although cows and goats can be affected by the Schmallenberg virus, it's not thought it's a risk to humans.During spring, around 16 million lambs will be born in the UK.
Badger Trust launch legal challenge to badger cull
The Badger Trust has launched a new legal challenge to the government's plans to cull badgers in England.
The plans to kill large numbers of badgers have been put in place because it's thought they give tuberculosis (TB) to cows. It's a disease that affects the lungs and can be deadly. The Badger Trust believes that a cull(meaning a selective slaughter of wild animals) will not stop the disease from being spread and could in fact make it worse. In December, the government announced its plans for a cull in pilot areas in England, to try to bring the disease under control. At the same time, wildlife groups also began vaccination programmes, hoping this will remove any need for culling but the government says the vaccine is not good enough to solve the problem.

Nail embedded in mans brain
32 year old, Dante Autullo covered from having a nail removed from his brain — which he hadn't known was there.
He thought that his doctors were joking and he had only cut himself with a nail gun whilst building a shed. The doctors reassured him that his x-ray was in fact real and that a nail was indeed lodged in the middle of his brain.
Dante Autullo recovered approximately recently on Friday after his surgery at Advocate Christ Medical Centre, in Oak Lawn, which took 2 hours, where doctors removed the 3.75, approximately 7.65cm nail, according to the reports from the agency,
Mr.Autullo said: "When they brought in the picture, I said to the doctor 'Is this a joke? Did you get that out of the doctors joke file?' The doctors said 'No man, that's in your head.'
On his way to another hospital by ambulance he posted a picture of the x-ray on his Facebook page.
On the day of the incident, Mr.Autullo recalled he was building a shed on Tuesday and was using his nail gun above his head when he fired it. with nothing to show that a nail hadn't simply passed by his head his long term companion Gail Glaenzer was able to lean his wound by peroxide.
Mr.Autillo recalled that "It really felt like I got punched on the side of my head." "I thought it went passed my ear" Adding that he continued working and on with his regular events of the day.
There are pain-sensitive nerves on a person's skull, however, not within a human brain itself, which is why he felt the nail strike the skull but didn't feel the nail penetrate the brain.
Mr. Autullo carried on with his day and nor never Miss Gleanzer thought much about it. A day after Mr. Autullo sensed headache and felt nauseated Miss Glaenzer suggested they go to the hospital. Mr. Autullo first refused but then relented after they went to pick up their son from school.
After a couple of hours later an x-ray was taken; and there floating in a 32-year-old mans brain, was a nail.
"He feels good. He moved all his limbs and talked normal, he remembers everything." "It's amazing," Miss Glaenzer stated.

iPads, the new ID?
Martin Reisch, a Canadian man, was able to cross over to the US even after he forgot his passport by showing the official a scaned image of his passport on his iPad. He told the official that he was going to Vermont to give Christmas presents.
Reisch told the press that he knew the official had made an exception, ‘I thought I’d at least give it try.’ He also said that the drivers licence and the true story he told helped him cross the border to deliver his presents.
He then managed to re-enter to Canada on the same day. Reisch said that he thinks scanned identification will become normal in the near or distant future. ‘I see the future as 100% being able to cross with your identity on a digital device – it’s just a matter of time.’

2011 has been an interesting year for all of us. For some it has been the best year, whilst for others, perhaps the hardest. The 2011 winners—including the selected pictures shown here—were chosen from more than 51,000 submissions from 148 countries. The Photographers competed in multiple categories. And Here they are:
Us Declaration of Independence, legal?
July 4, Americas founding fathers signed a document that announced their sovereign nation ‘ The Declaration of Independence.’
An event, Temple American Inn of Court, turned British lawyers against American to find out if the declaration was legal.
A vote at the end of the meeting decided that they wouldn’t decide anything now but they would wait. The legality of the declaration is proven by subsequent independence movements, which have been formed by world opinion. However the Brits disagree. They believe that was illegal. The Declaration of Independence itself, in the absence of any recognized legal basis, had to appeal to "natural law," an undefined concept, and to "self-evident truths," that is to say truths for which no evidence could be provided.
The grievances listed in the Declaration were too trivial to justify secession. The main one — no taxation without representation — was no more than a wish on the part of the colonists, to avoid paying for the expense of protecting them against the French during seven years of arduous war and conflict.’ This is a quote from the BBC news page.
